Aetherial Staff is an item found in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard.

EnchantmentEdit

It is a Dwemer staff that allows the wielder to summon a Dwarven Spider Guardian or Dwarven Sphere Guardian for 60 seconds. It can also, on occasion, summon random Dwemer scrap metals, such as solid Dwemer metal, large decorative Dwemer struts and Dwemer gyros.

AcquisitionEdit

It can only be crafted in the Aetherium Forge during the quest Lost to the Ages. It requires the following components:

• 1 x Aetherium Crest
• 2 x Dwarven Metal Ingot
• 2 x Ebony Ingot
• 1 x Gold Ingot

Apart from Aetherium Crest which is assembled during the quest, all other materials to craft the staff can be found in the Aetherium Forge room on tables to the left and right of the forge.

TriviaEdit

• The Dragonborn may encounter Taron Dreth, who will ask about the staff. Regardless of the option chosen in the dialogue, he and his three mercenaries will turn hostile and attack.
• While equipped, it will give a strange humming sound.
• It's appearance is nearly identical to the spider control rod except that its gem is blue and itself is more golden.

BugsEdit

•  PC   360   PS3  The staff's summon effect may not work at all, making the staff useless.
•  PC  Followers do not to use the staff, regardless of their class. It's not known if the bug is caused by follower-item incompatibility or rather the item being bugged itself.
