Ancient's Ascent is a dragon's lair located in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

One must navigate through Bonechill Passage to reach this remote site, which lies high among Falkreath's southern peaks. Dispatch gossamer Ice Wraiths while ascending the snow-covered steps here, which lead up to an ancient Word Wall. After completing Dragon Rising, a dragon will make its home here. Before that point, this area will be inhabited by a couple leveled creatures.

Alternatively, it's possible to reach the peak from the opposite direction but involves a lot of jumping and climbing. Eventually one can reach the peak directly behind the dragon. To use this route, from the door to Bloodlet Throne head directly towards the marker for Ancient's Ascent, at a rock wall, go to the left edge and with only a couple jumps one may slip over the rock face. If stealthy, it makes for a perfect sneak attack before the dragon awakens.

Another stealthy route is to approach from Angi's Camp and at the fork in the road, go right. Then follow the path to Ancient's Ascent.

There is a note in a burned down hut which activates a quest to kill the dragon.

Alternatively, a bounty for the dragon can be received from Falkreath.
