Arius is a supposed 'God of Fire' who is worshiped by a primitive tribal people who lived on an unspecified island. In order to appease the god, the people would, once a year, sacrifice a child to the god.
If the natives failed to fulfill this tribute, Arius was believed to erupt the island's volcano which would result in the death of hundreds of the villagers.
