Armor Sets (Skyrim)

An Armor Set is defined as a complete set of armor that includes one matching armor piece for the head, chest, hands and feet.

There are several different armor sets available in Skyrim, both in heavy and light variants. Certain Armor set can provide special bonuses if the full set is worn.

Heavy Armor Sets

Armor Location

Ancient Nord Armor

A complete set is located in Forelhost or crafted via Smithing.

Blades Armor

A complete set is located in Sky Haven Temple.

Daedric Armor

A complete set only available via Smithing, The Atronach Forge or, very rarely, pieces as random loot.

Dragonplate Armor

A complete set available via Smithing, or, very rarely, found as random loot.

Dwarven Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.

Ebony Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.

Falmer Armor

The only complete set is located in Mzinchaleft.

Imperial Armor

A complete set available from Imperial Soldiers or crafted via Smithing.

Iron Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.

Orcish Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.

Steel Plate Armor A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.
Wolf Armor A complete set can be bought from Eorlund Grey-Mane or looted off of Skjor (No helmet) during the Companion's quest The Silver Hand.

Light Armor Sets

Armor Location
Elven Armor

A complete set is located in Northwatch Keep, Thalmor Embassy (multiple, as loot from Diplomatic Immunity) or crafted via Smithing.

Fur Armor

A complete set can be found on Bandits.

Glass Armor

A complete set is located in Northwatch Keep, Thalmor Embassy (as loot from Diplomatic Immunity) or crafted via Smithing.

Dragonscale Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or extremely lucky random loot.

Hide Armor

A complete set can be found on Bandits or crafted via Smithing.

Imperial Light Armor

A complete set available from Imperial Soldiers throughout Skyrim

Leather Armor

A complete set can be found on Bandits or crafted via Smithing.

Penitus Oculatus Armor

A complete set available from Penitus Oculatus soldiers

Scaled Armor

A complete set available via Smithing or found as random loot.

Shrouded Armor

A complete set is granted upon joining the Dark Brotherhood or during the quest: Destroy the Dark Brotherhood!

Stormcloak Armor

A complete set available from Stormcloak soldiers.

Stormcloak Officer Armor

Complete set is a reward for the Civil War quest: The Battle for Fort Snowhawk or looted from Galmar Stone-Fist after Battle For Windhelm.

Unique Armor Sets

Armor Location
Ancient Shrouded Armor

The complete set is found in Deepwood Redoubt after obtaining Olava's Token.

Armor of the Old Gods The complete set is granted upon completion of No One Escapes Cidhna Mine.
Cicero's Armor

The complete set can be obtained during the Dark Brotherhood quest The Cure for Madness.

Guild Master's Armor Set The complete set is granted upon becoming the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild

Linwe's Armor Set

The complete set can be looted from the corpse of Linwe located at Uttering Hills Cave during the quest Summerset Shadows.

Nightingale Armor

The complete set is obtained during the quest Trinity Restored.

Thieves Guild Armor

The complete set is granted upon joining the Thieves Guild.

Worn Shrouded Armor

Found inside the Dawnstar Sanctuary during The Cure For Madness

Perks

There are also several perks that influence armor sets, these can provide certain benefits when a full set is worn:

Heavy Armor Perk Description
Well Fitted 25% armor bonus if wearing all Heavy Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
Cushioned Half damage from falling if wearing all Heavy Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
Tower of Strength 50% less stagger when wearing only Heavy Armor
Matching Set Additional 25% armor bonus if wearing a matched set of Heavy Armor
Reflect Blows 10% chance to reflect melee damage back to the enemy while wearing all Heavy Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
Light Armor Perk Description
Custom Fit 25% armor bonus if wearing all Light Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
Wind Walker Stamina regenerates 50% faster in all Light Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
Matching Set Additional 25% Armor bonus if wearing a matched set of Light Armor.
Deft Movement 10% chance of avoiding all damage from a melee attack while wearing all Light Armor: head, chest, hands, feet
