Band of Orcs is a Knight Order quest available during the events of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. The Agent is asked to kill the leader of an Orcish Band, in hopes of improving their standing with one of the Knight Orders.
Having escaped from Privateer's Hold, the Agent may wander around the Iliac Bay freely. A potential source of income, and reputation, can be found by working for one of the ten Knight Orders, which serve ten regions across the Bay. In order to join an Order, however, the Agent will have to prove their abilities by completing some "mundane" tasks.
- Speak with a Quester from one of the Knight Orders.
- Journey to and enter the specified dungeon.
- Track down and kill the leader, an Orc Sergeant.
- Return to the Quester before the time limit expires to complete the quest.
Speaking to a Quester of an unjoined Knight Order will reveal that the local population are being "troubled" by a nearby band of Orcs. Although the Knight Order is tasked with killing off the group, the Quester is willing to let the Agent take out the band's leader, a test to see whether they are suitable for the Order. Accepting the quest reveals the name of the band's leader, an Orc Sergeant, and the dungeon they are hiding in.
Slaying the SergeantEdit
The Agent must journey to and then enter the specified dungeon to begin their hunt, facing off against a mix of normal dungeon based creatures, as well as an increased number of Orcs. Among the Orcish hoards will be their leader, the Sergeant, lurking somewhere in the dungeon with a unique helm.
When the Sergeant is killed the Agent will receive a message informing them that they have indeed killed the leader. With that the Agent must escape the dungeon and return to the Quester before the time limit expires.
The Agent will not receive any physical reward for completing the quest successfully, but will instead get a more widespread boost to their reputation. The penalties for failing the quest remain true to a usual quest:

- NPCs, when asked for any news, will make a variety of comments relating to the quest:
- "That orc tribe has eluded the knights so far."
- "That orc tribe would be lost without its leader."
- "Some [player's race] came out of nowhere, slew the orc leader, and left."
- "The orcs will be back. Their leader still lives."
