Bangkorai, sometimes incorrectly spelled Bankorai,[1] is a zone connecting High Rock and Hammerfell in The Elder Scrolls Online.[2] The zone takes its name from the Bangkorai Pass which has defended High Rock against threats from the south and east since at least 1E 874.[3][4] The capital of Bangkorai is the port city Evermore that assumes control over the region, including the lowlands in Hammerfell past the Garrison.[4]
Background[]
- "This region takes its name from its most famous feature, the Bangkorai Pass, which has served as High Rock's defense against the wild raiders of Hammerfell for countless generations. The uplands north of the pass and the desert to the south are both ruled from the port city of Evermore."

In 1E 874, an army of Orsimer and Goblins was defeated by the Redguards in Hammerfell, forcing them to retreat north towards High Rock. The Bangkorai Pass prevented them from accessing the province directly, causing them to instead traverse the Dragontail Mountains towards Orsinium.[3] In 1E 1029, the Gray Host, after being defeated by the Imperial Legion, fled west from Skyrim. In their wake, they burned and pillaged any place they came upon before they were defeated at the Bangkorai Pass, notably due the sacrifice of Saint Pelin.[3][5] In 1E 2305, High Rock seceded from the First Empire and the Legions of Piety and Grace under the command of Abbot-General Priscus Mectator attempted to return the province to the Empire's control. Despite the vastness of the Legions, the Empire was unable to breach the Bangkorai Pass for five months and withdrew back to Cyrodiil.[3][6]
In 2E 541, Bangkorai for the first time succumbed to an invading force when Durcorach the Black Drake and his fellow Reachmen attacked from the north, sacking Evermore and defeating the Bangkorai Pass Garrison in three days.[3][7] In 2E 582, Reachmen still maintained a hostile presence in the region,[8] although Evermore had largely recovered and the Bangkorai Pass Garrison was restored to full strength.[9] During this time, the remnant Seventh Legion under the command of Magus-General Septima Tharn conducted a campaign against the Daggerfall Covenant with the assistance of the Order of the Black Worm.[10] The Vestige assisted High King Emeric in defeating their forces and securing the region.[11]
Locations[]
- Main article: Locations (Online)
The following are locations accessible in Bangkorai and, with the exception of unmarked locations, are discoverable on the map. Points of Interest serve as locations with unique side quests, while cities serve as the centralised areas with multiple sublocations and act as a hub for services and merchants. Explanations of the types of locations are provided in the main locations page.
Quests[]
- Main article: Quests (Online)
Bangkorai features a series of zone story quests and unrelated side quests. The zone story quests conclude the Daggerfall Covenant's overarching storyline and carries on from the Alik'r Desert, but it is not necessary to complete the story quests for zones prior to those in Bangkorai. Side quests are non-sequential and can be completed in any order, except where one carries on from another, and repeatable quests can be completed multiple times: weekly for arenas and trials and daily for all others. Pointer quests are optional zone quests that send the Vestige to the tarting location of another zone quest.
