"It's a good thing I've kept all the weapons and armor in good condition. If I let those soldiers use them, they'd be all dented by now."
―Bat gro-Orkul's Ghost[src]

Bat gro-Orkul was an Orsimer smith and resident of the ruined city of Vitharn, which was overrun by its own brethren centuries ago.

Background

As a result of the cowardice, inaction and lack of common sense displayed by the citizens and guards of Vitharn, their ghosts were cursed by Sheogorath to relive their final moments forever.

He refused to hand over weapons and armor to the soldiers as he was very protective of them and as a result Althel failed to protect the gate wheel.

Interactions

Ghosts of Vitharn

Years ago, the fortress of Vitharn was attacked and overrun by invading fanatics. Upon his death, Count Cirion was visited by Sheogorath who cursed him and the rest of the fort's inhabitants for their cowardice and miserably poor defense. Lord Sheogorath forced them to relive their last moments forever.

Quotes

  • "I am Bat gro-Orkul, warden of the armory. If you need weapons or armor, I've got them."
  • "I'm keeping Vitharn's weapons and armor safe from thieves and miscreants."
  • "You there. I'm watching you. Not so close to the armory door."
  • "I can't give you any arrows because then the armory would be empty. Then what would I do if someone needed some arrows? I wouldn't have any, that's what."

Trivia

  • On his headstone in the ruined graveyard is the epitaph: "Bat gro-Urkul was a miser. Upon his head lies a measure of the blame for Vitharn's fall."
