Beast Form is a power gained during the quest The Silver Hand, after completing the blood ritual with the Companions. This once-daily power grants you the ability to turn into a werewolf for a short time, or for as long as you continue to feed on prey which will also replenish some of your health. Note that you can only feed on the corpses of playable races as well as Forsworn; contrary to what you might expect, a werewolf cannot devour animals or Falmer.

While in Beast Form, if you attack someone and get one of the two finishing moves, then it is listed under "Mauls" in General Stats, along with the number of days you have been a werewolf and how many transformations you have had.

The Ring of Hircine does essentially the same thing as Beast Form, except you can use it more than once per day.

While cursed with "Beast Blood," your character is prevented from obtaining the "Well rested" perk. Normally, Beast Form fades away within 120 seconds, unless you feed upon the corpses of your enemies, which adds more time (30 seconds per feeding).

It is worth noting that stat-modifying spells (e.g. Oakflesh, Muffle, Flame Cloak, and even racial powers such as Dragonskin) will remain in effect when in Beast Form. Using Stoneflesh and Dragonskin while in Beast Form, you can potentially defeat even a Dragon Priest at around level 10 on Adept difficulty. You may even be able to summon some conjured atronachs just before transforming. However, do not get overzealous in battle especially against multiple enemies or high level archers and spellcasters. With no way to replenish lost health other than feeding on slain enemies (you cannot cast healing spells or drink potions), it is possible to get overwhelmed. A werewolf can prevent this by howling, causing enemies to flee, but this will not work on high level opponents.

• If you get "stuck" within Beast Form, do remember this: everything else is 'locked out' for Beast, except Wait function. Use that function to pass couple in-game hours and Beast form will disappear.
