Beds (Oblivion)

Beds in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

For other uses, see Beds.

Beds offer a different type of waiting. Sleeping in a bed allows for the quick passage of time. If a bed is owned by a Character, a message appears, detailing it. Sleeping in a bed unowned by the player makes it impossible to receive the "Well Rested" active effect and is considered a Crime. This will also make it impossible to sleep in an owned bed and a brief pop up will appear. "You can't sleep in an owned bed."Leveling up requires the use of beds.

Beds in Cyrodiil can be found in all of the cities and towns, including some mines and dungeons. Cheap beds can be rented at inns. Joining a faction or buying a home gives free beds.
