Background[]

"Bleakrock is an island off the northeast coast of Skyrim between Windhelm and Solstheim. The hardy Nords who inhabit Bleakrock are mostly farmers and fisherfolk. A small contingent of Pact soldiers keeps a sharp lookout for pirates and raiders."

Bleakrock Isle has been inhabited by local Nords since the Merethic Era. During the time of the Dragon Cult the island was ruled by the Dragon Priest Haldriin from the temple of Skyshroud Barrow.[2] The mine of Hozzin's Folly was established by a prospector and his family to mine for iron, but were in fact Daedra worshippers seeking to establish a cult inside the ancient Nordic burial chambers.[3]

In 2E 582, during the Alliance War, Bleakrock Isle was invaded by the Daggerfall Covenant as a prelude to the invasion of Stonefalls and Bal Foyen to eliminate the islands early warning capability.[4] The Covenant forces, commanded by General Serien, scouted the island and sought to use the power of the Daedric cult at Hozzin's Folly[5] as well as raise the dead at Skyshroud Barrow to support the invasion of the Pact's territory.[6] Soldiers of the Covenant burned the central town of Bleakrock Village, displacing much of the islands population who fled to Bal Foyen.[7] The Vestige was on the island during the invasion and worked with Captain Rana to evacuate the residents and fend off the Covenant.[8] During this time, bandit activity greatly increased on the island, making it necessary for residents to carry Alabaster Bandit Whistles to sound when they required aid.[9]
