I don't think you can abandon main quests, though i've never tried abandoning them before. When you complete a quest for the main storyline, the next quest will not become availabe immidiatly. You should go ahead and do some side quests for the time being. You should check the quest log periodicly though, as you will eventually get something telling you to go the harborage.
OK thats about all i can do , ty for your patience and understanding...:)
The next main quest won't become available until you are the required level.
For example, if you've completed the quest to rescue Lyris, the following quest (Castle of the Worm) won't become available until you are level 20.
It may be a case of that as to why it's not appearing yet.
Im v1 , i am at the citadel gate , found the house behind the fighters guild that was sposed to have a key but nothing.
Is there a way to pick up side quests that were abandoned? I fount the akavari war but abandoned by accident when I was supposed to find the guy that lost his son (forgot his name) and went crazy, using the coral. Thanks in advance for any help
Try going back to the npc you first got the quest from, you should be able start it again.
This just happened to me, and it was actually really easy to pick it up again! I abandoned after dying in Defeat the Guardian of the Portal and resurrecting at the wayshrine and not being able to find a way to return to the portal. After I abandoned, I thought I'd just be able to pick it up, but there were no markers! Eventually, I found a post that said I could go back to the gate where the King and Caldwell are waiting, sneak through the gap in the wall (at the right), and I'd find the person with the quest marker to continue. I tried that--didn't see the person, but I kept heading up, and eventually, I found where Varen and Caldwell came through the portal. Varen had the quest marker, and I was able to pick right back up again!
I only had to redo a few stages to get back to where I'd abandoned it.
So, the short answer, is retrace your steps, continuing until you see someone with a quest marker. You'll likely have to redo a little bit, but not the whole thing.
Good luck! I ended up finishing the quest last night--it was amazing! Truly a great experience! Have fun!
