Calder is a Nord Housecarl who lives in Windhelm.

LocationEdit

Calder can be found in Hjerim, in Windhelm, and becomes a candidate for marriage if the Dragonborn wears the Amulet of Mara. 

InteractionsEdit

After purchasing Hjerim and becoming Thane of Eastmarch, the Dragonborn acquires Calder as a housecarl, appointed by Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm.

However, if Ulfric Stormcloak was killed during the Civil War quest line Calder is appointed by the new Jarl, Brunwulf Free-Winter. When inactive as a Follower, Calder resides at Hjerim, or, if a Blade, he will be inside Sky Haven Temple.

In The Elder Scrolls V: Hearthfire, Calder can become a steward when approached nearby the Dragonborn's property.

Combat Behavior and SkillsEdit

Calder is skilled in Archery, One-handed weapons, shields, and Heavy armor. Calder has a set amount that he can carry, and then the player will not be able to give him any more items. This is not a problem, as the Dragonborn may drop items and tell him to pick them up infinitely.

BugsEdit

• In Dawnguard, Calder will equip Crossbows and use bolts, but he will never succeed in firing it, just holding it up and putting it down suddenly, at a very fast rate, though he never holds it up long enough to shoot.
• Staffs given to him may duplicate, and he will use both of them. However, if one is taken from him, the other disappears.
• As is the case with many if not all followers, if given a bow by the Dragonborn , Calder may still use the Hunting Bow he spawns with.
