Drain Life

Drain Life, an action card.

Cards are the primary gameplay mechanic in The Elder Scrolls: Legends. They are used to attack, defend, destroy, or kill other cards or the player. Cards usually have one of six attributes: Strength, Willpower, Agility, Intelligence, Endurance, and Neutral. However, some cards, such as Tyr, have two attributes like Strength and Willpower, and are considered Dual Attribute.

DescriptionEdit

DecksEdit

Decks can have up to two attributes, which makes it harder to have two attributed cards. The Cards are stronger and usually cost more. Decks are made up of fifty to seventy cards, and are made up of four card types.

  • Action – Used to make actions, which are instantly consumed upon being played.
  • Creature – Used to attack, defend, and kill other creature cards and/or the opponent.
  • Item – Used to increase the power or health of creatures, as well as provide various keywords.
  • Support – Used to apply broader effects to creatures or players that are not bound to a specific card, which can be ongoing or only used upon activation, and cannot be destroyed by regular means.

RarityEdit

Cards have different rarity, which reflects the chance of getting a card in a pack. For example, players are more likely to receive a common card such as Fiery Imp faster than a legendary card such as Volkihar Lord. Cards also have a Mana Cost. The player receives +1 Mana every turn, starting with 1 Mana. Some cards can increase your Mana when in play. The Black Marsh Smugglers deck relies on this. The stronger the card, the more Mana it costs. Some cards can increase your Mana until they die. Only one type of unique card is permitted per deck.

Acquisition and upgradesEdit

Soul Gems are used to create cards, as an alternative to receiving cards through Card Packs. Each card belongs to a certain type of set: Core, Dark Brotherhood, Skyrim, or Promotional. The stronger the card, the more Soul Gems are needed. However, cards such as Tyr are obtained by giving up other cards. Some Cards can also be upgraded when at a high enough level, which increases some of their stats. Players are generally given a choice of upgrading to various more advanced cards.

KeywordsEdit

Keywords are ways that allow more damage, take no damage, and regen health. Keywords are used commonly and mostly every Card have keywords. Some Action Cards can give Keywords such as Royal Sage and Mundus Stone. The 7 Keywords are Drain, Regenerate, Ward, Guard, Charge, Breakthrough, and Lethal.
