Dealing with Orvas Dren is the final quest in the House Hlaalu quest line, which results in the Nerevarine being declared the Grandmaster of House Hlaalu, in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Objectives[]

  1. Speak with Duke Vedam Dren
  2. Head to the Dren Plantation
    • Speak with Orvas Dren about relinquishing his control of the Camonna Tong
      • (Either) Persuade Orvas Dren to relinquish control
      • (Or) Blackmail Orvas Dren
      • (Or) Kill Orvas Dren
  3. Return to Duke Dren

Walkthrough[]

Once the Ordinators have been brought under tighter control, thanks to the Nerevarine's work, Duke Vedam Dren will give them one final quest, bring the Camonna Tong into line. He reveals that his brother, Orvas Dren, is in charge of the group and must have his control over it relinquished.

The End of Orvas Dren's Power[]

In a previous quest, the Nerevarine may have freed Hides-His-Foot from the Dren Plantation. Hides-His-Foot will reveal that there is a secret in the cellar of the building. If the Nerevarine investigates the cellar, they will find Dren's Note, which contains evidence with which the Nerevarine can blackmail Dren with.

Speaking with Dren will confirm that he is indeed in control of the Camonna Tong and is determined to keep hold of it. The Nerevarine may attempt to persuade Dren to relinquish his grip on the organisation (which, if successful, will raise his disposition by 10) or blackmail him with the evidence. An alternative to these options is to simply kill him, although this choice is significantly more difficult than the others.

Once Dren has had his power taken from him (either by force, blackmail or persuasion), the Nerevarine may return to Duke Dren to be declared Grandmaster of Hlaalu.

Trivia[]

  • The Nerevarine may have killed Dren during the Hlaalu Hortator quest.
    • This means this quest will effectively be skipped, meaning Duke Dren will name them Grandmaster automatically.
    • If the Nerevarine isn't a member of Hlaalu, they can still be named Grandmaster of Hlaalu, meaning that they have effectively joined two houses.
  • The note is guarded by two men in the cellar (whom will attack if they spot the Nerevarine).
