|Quest Giver||Sven or Faendal|
Sven or Faendal become available as a Follower
Alternative: Asking Faendal first about his rivalry with Sven will grant the Dragonborn Faendal's letter.
He will ask the Dragonborn to deliver a false letter, about how Faendal is not interested in a human wife, to Camilla and say it was from Faendal. At this point, there are the options to help Faendal or Sven, with each path having 3 possible solutions:
1st Solution: Tell Faendal about Sven's plan. He will then give the Dragonborn another false letter - this one supposedly from Sven - and will ask the Dragonborn to deliver it to Camilla. Camilla can be found at the Riverwood Trader. The Dragonborn may then tell her the letter is from Sven and she will become angry and ask the Dragonborn to tell Sven never to speak to her again. Upon returning to Faendal, either at his house or near the lumbermill, he will reward the Dragonborn with 25 .
2nd Solution: The second choice is to tell Camilla the letter is from Sven. She appears shocked at Sven's deception and will ask the Dragonborn to speak to Faendal and tell him what happened. By doing so, Faendal will reward the Dragonborn with 25 gold.
3rd Solution: Lying about Faendal's letter that belittles Sven. The Dragonborn will get the same reward.
- 1st Solution: Lie to Camilla and tell her that the letter is from Faendal - just as Sven asked to. Sven will reward the Dragonborn with 25 .
- 2nd Solution: Start the same way as Solution 1 under Help Faendal, but tell give Camilla the second letter. Since she doesn't know about the first letter, she will believe that only Faendal is at fault. The outcome is the same as above.
- 3rd Solution: Tell Camilla the truth of Faendal's letter. Same reward as the 1st Solution.
Whichever man that was helped will become a follower, offering assistance.
If the Dragonborn kills either Faendal or Sven after completing the quest, the one still alive will have a letter delivered by courier citing he knows "what you did" and that he will not tell anyone.
