For other uses, see Ebony Mail.
"The Ebony Mail is a breastplate created before recorded history by the Dark Elven goddess Boethiah. It is she who determines who should possess the Ebony Mail and for how long a time. If judged worthy, its power grants the wearer added resistance of fire, magicka, and grants a magical shield. It is Boethiah alone who determines when a person is ineligible to bear the Ebony Mail any longer, and the goddess can be very capricious."
Yagrum Bagarn[src]

Acquisition[]

Tholer Saryoni at the High Fane in Vivec City 's Temple Canton offers a quest to retrieve this armor (available to Master-ranked members of the Temple only). It can be obtained by praying at a shrine in Mount Assarnibibi. After bringing the armor to Tholer, he allows the Nerevarine to keep it.

Quests[]

Ebony Mail[]

The Ebony Mail is retrieved during this quest, as stated above.

The Museum TR[]

In Tribunal the Ebony Mail can be donated or sold to the Museum of Artifacts in Godsreach, Mournhold. If selling Torasa Aram, the museum's curator, offers 30'000Gold for it, which is the maximum amount of gold she is willing to spend for one artifact.

Trivia[]

  • Ebony Mail has the highest monetary value and armor rating of any piece of medium armor in the game.
  • If the Nerevarine is not a member of the Temple it is still possible to obtain this armor by exploiting an oversight on the part of developers. Speaking to Thorler Saryoni about "bad daedra" and "four corners" makes it possible to activate the shrine and receive the armor.
