House Hlaalu quest given by Nileno Dorvayn available to the Nerevarine, if they joined House Hlaalu, during the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Trade is aBackground[]
Having brought Ralen Hlaalo's killer to justice, the Nerevarine is given one final task by Nileno Dorvayn. Talking to her about business will reveal that Hlaalu's ebony trade is under threat. The East Empire Company's base in Vvardenfell, Ebonheart, has threatened to buy ebony from House Redoran unless Hlaalu reduces their prices. The Nerevarine is given a choice by Dorvayn to solve this solution: they may either speak to Canctunian Ponius (a representative of the East Empire Company in Ebonheart) and convince him to continue to purchase Hlaalu ebony, or kill Darns Tedalen (head of mining at Sudanit Mine) to shut down the Redoran controlled Sudanit Mine.
Objectives[]
- Speak to Nileno Dorvayn
- Complete Option One:
- Head to Ebonheart
- Persuade Canctunian Ponius to buy Hlaalu sourced ebony
- And/or, complete Option Two:
- Head to Sudanit Mine
- Kill Darns Tedalen
- Return to Dorvayn
Walkthrough[]
Option One: A chat with Ponius[]
The first option available to the Nerevarine is to persuade the East Empire Company's representative in Ebonheart to continue to buy ebony from Hlaalu. In order to persuade him to lengthen the Company's contract with Hlaalu about ebony, the Nerevarine must raise his disposition above 75. Once this has been achieved the Nerevarine must return to Dorvayn to tell her the good news.
Option Two: Closing the Competition[]
The second option offered by Dorvayn is to shut down the Redoran controlled mine of Sudanit, southeast of the Buckmoth Legion Fort. To shut the mine down, the Nerevarine must kill the Head of Mining at the site, Darns Tedalen. Tedalen is guarded by House Redoran guards, so killing him may cause problems (he must also be provoked into attacking or the Nerevarine will receive a bounty for their troubles.
The Nerevarine may return to Nileno Dorvayn after this point. If one of the two options has been carried out, then the Nerevarine will receive 1,000 . If, however, they completed both options then the Nerevarine will not only receive the gold, but also a pair of glass boots, greaves and cuirass.

10 | The East Empire Company threatened to buy ebony from House Redoran unless House Hlaalu lowers prices. I must convince Canctunian Ponius at the East Empire Company in Ebonheart to buy ebony only from House Hlaalu, or I must shut down Sudanit mine.

20 | Nileno Dorvayn told me that if I want to get to the Sudanit mine, I should start in Ald'ruhn. Then go south around the town until I see the path between Ald'ruhn and the Buckmoth Legion Fort. I should follow this path east until I reach the Ghostfence. Then keep to the right until I see the mine. |
