"It's the oldest living thing in Skyrim. Maybe all of Tamriel."
Danica Pure-Spring[src]

Eldergleam is an ancient tree blessed by the goddess Kynareth in the Eldergleam Sanctuary.

History[]

Early in the history of Whiterun, a piece was grafted from the tree and planted in the city square outside the Temple of Kynareth. This offspring of the Eldergleam Tree is called Gildergreen. Many believe the Eldergleam Tree is the oldest living thing in Skyrim, if not all of Tamriel.

Quests[]

The Blessings of Nature[]

Trivia[]

  • In order to reach Eldergleam, one must have the weapon Nettlebane, acquired as part of the first step for "The Blessings of Nature" quest. Once the Dragonborn reaches the tree, they can use the blade to acquire some sap. However, performing the act of taking the sap will cause several hostile Spriggans to appear. Alternatively, if Kynareth's follower Maurice Jondrelle accompanies the Dragonborn to the sanctuary, he can acquire a sapling to bring back to Danica Pure-Spring, the quest giver, in Whiterun. This second method causes no harm to the Eldergleam and thus does not trigger the wrath of the Spriggans.
  • Once the Dragonborn completes this quest, Nettlebane will contribute its weight into the inventory (10WeightIcon).
