Acquisition
Edit
An Enhanced Crossbow is available for purchase from Sorine Jurard at Fort Dawnguard after completing the first part to the quest Ancient Technology. She will also teach the Dragonborn how to smith an enhanced crossbow if requested.
Smithing
Edit
After obtaining the schematics for it and asking Sorine Jurard how to create it, it may be smithed with the steel smithing perk. It can only be made at the blacksmith's forge in Fort Dawnguard and using the following components:
- 1 x Crossbow
- 2 x Corundum Ingot
It can be upgraded with a steel ingot at a grindstone, and also benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
It can also be enchanted, despite already appearing as an enchanted item. The enchant will be applied to the weapon, but will not be added to the description (making it impossible to know what enchantment you put on it, unless you use it or you can tell by the glow of the weapon, e.g. red for fire enchant, etc...)
