Not to be confused with Archen or Archon's Grove.
"The city gate of Archon looms over you as you enter. People around you here seem to be avoiding eye contact..."
―In-game description[src]

Archon is a city in Black Marsh. It is one of several possible locations that the Eternal Champion may discover in The Elder Scrolls: Arena.

Geography[]

Archon is connected to two settlements. To the northwest is Portdun Mont, and to the north is Seafalls.

History[]

First Era[]

The settlement of Archon was formed when the Barsaebic Ayleids of the region settled in the area where Archon, Arnesia, and Thorn are now located.[1]

During the Blackwater War, multiple pirates have been seen throughout the Archon coastline. General Lucinia Falco urged the Empire to offer letters of temporary commissions to multiple pirates throughout the coast.[2]

Third Era[]

During the Imperial Simulacrum, the Eternal Champion had at one point visited the city in their quest for a piece of the Staff of Chaos.

Fourth Era[]

At one point in time, a Shadowscales Training Facility existed in Archon up until their sudden disappearance.[3] The listener of the Cyrodiilic chapter of the Dark Brotherhood, Alisanne Dupre, talked with Brotherhood member Rasha about reopening the facility in 4E 187.[4]

Trivia[]

  • In earlier development, Arena was going to be a Tournament-based game. Archon's team was known as the Plague.[UL 1]
  • It is unknown on whether the Archeins are related to Archon, since both are related to Black Marsh and Archeins are Argonian Advisors in the Septim Empire.
  • Archon's name may have come from the Greek word of Archon which means ruler. The word derives from the words monarch and hierarchy.
