"Call the weapon of the Dark Brotherhood to your hand and deliver a killing blow to an unsuspecting target. Experience from this target is reduced by 75%. This ability does not work on players or difficult targets."

Blade of Woe is a Dark Brotherhood passive skill that allows the Vestige to assassinate targets, as part of the The Elder Scrolls Online: Dark Brotherhood DLC.

When activated, the Vestige will automatically equip the Blade of Woe (an item that does not exist in the inventory, but can be seen when using this skill) and murder the target, displaying one of the available animations. If the murder is witnessed by a guard or an NPC, the Vestige will be given a considerable bounty.

To use this skill, the Vestige must sneak behind the target and activate by pressing the indicated combination of buttons (the same as for activating synergies). However, only humanoid targets can be killed with the Blade of Woe. Enemy players, powerful enemies (with framed healthbars), enemies in dungeons and many kinds of undead do not qualify as valid targets.

If an enemy is killed by this skill, the Vestige will only get 25% of the Experience.

This skill is unlocked after the quest "Voices in the Dark."
