Dwarven Armor is a heavy armor set in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Ancient, bronze-gold armor, it once belonged to the lost race known as the Dwemer, also called the dwarves.
Locations
Unenchanted pieces of armor will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 12 and enchanted variants can be found at level 13. These locations include:
- Blacksmiths and general goods merchants.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item.
Fixed locations
- Nchuand-Zel – a full set of Dwarven armor is behind an expert locked gate in the Nchuand-Zel Armory.
- Mzinchaleft Gatehouse – a helmet, shield, and boots are on two tables on the top floor on both sides of the room where the Dwarven Centurion Guardian resides.
Smithing
- "It would be erroneous to conclude that dwarven smiths did not take the manufacture of their weapons and armor very seriously. Every piece of war crafts I have examined show a remarkable amount of unnecessary detailing and personalization that is just as evident today among the most ardent blacksmiths."
- ―Calcelmo[src]
Dwarven Armor requires a Smithing level of 30 and the Dwarven Smithing perk to create. Pieces can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
Pieces can be upgraded with a Dwarven metal ingot at a workbench and also benefit from the Dwarven Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

Quests
The quest "Unfathomable Depths" rewards the Dragonborn with a permanent effect called Ancient Knowledge. This effect is supposed to grant a 25% bonus to armor when wearing a full set of Dwarven Armor, however, it actually gives a 25% bonus to all light and heavy armor types (except for Dwarven after patch 1.9.26.0.8).confirmation needed

Trivia
- When approaching a guard, they may compliment the armor: "Fine armor you've got there. Dwarven make, am I right?"
- Calcelmo, a scholar in Understone Keep, has a particular interest in many of the rare Dwarven items, and will sometimes ask the Dragonborn to bring him any pieces of dwarven armor if found.
- The facial expression on the helmet is dependent on the gender. If a male were to wear it, the facial expression would be in a grimace, whereas when a female wears it, the helmet appears to be in a smile.
