Walkthrough[]

In the ruins of Laeloria, you will come across a statue of Azura. Interact with it, and the goddess of dusk and dawn will speak with you. She will tell you that this place serves as a portal to Molag Bal's realm of Coldharbour, and that one of her priests has been held captive there for milennia. Azura has sealed the place to prevent Molag Bal's Daedra from swarming into Tamriel, but a mage named Vastarie has figured out a way to get past the seal while leaving it intact. Azura will task you with retracing Vastarie's steps so that you may rescue her priest.

Head into the Tower of Vastarie to your northeast. There, you will entries one, three and four of notes written by Vastarie that indicate how she found out how to pass the seal. The notes will mention a tablet; said tablet can be found on the top floor, on a small table.

"<The spidery script upon the tablet seems to flicker when you don't look at it directly.>"

'I think I'm supposed to say "Irrai." "<The tablet pulses with power.>"

Speak the name "Irrai" to the tablet and a Winged Twilight by that name will appear. Talk to her and she will tell you how to get into Coldharbour. Vastarie used an artifact known as the Twilit Heart for this purpose, which still stands before the gates here, bereft of its magicka. You will need to feed it souls, for which you will need to grab a sigil geode from Vastarie's tower.

You can find one in the reliquary on Vastarie's desk. Take it, then head outside and use the geode to absorb the souls of some of the Daedra there. You will have to rough them up a bit before you can use the geode on them, but take care not to kill them. Once you have absorbed three Daedric souls, head to the Twilit Heart in the northwest of the area and use it to restore Irrai to her true power, so that she can open the way into the ruins.

Once inside, start looking for the priest Culanwe. In the first room, you will encounter Vastarie, alive and well. In a confrontation between Vastarie and Irrai, you will discover that Irrai is in fact a servant of Molag Bal; help Vastarie defeat Irrai, and Irrai will attempt to flee, but Vastarie will trap her. You can speak with Vastarie now; if you do so, she will tell you that the only path to victory is through trapping Irrai in the Sigil Geode. Do this, then talk to Vastarie again. She will tell you that at the base of these ruins, you will find the portal that Culanwe's suffering has created between the planes.

Head through the ruins and you will find the portal. On the other side, you will find yourself in Coldharbour. You will be in a room with an altar and two blue flames on either side, known as soul prisons. Extinguish the flames, then head up the altar to retrieve Culanwe's remains. This will end her suffering and close the portal. Once this is done, speak with Vastarie and she will use Irrai's connection with the tablet to open a temporary portal and bring you both back to Tamriel. Once back, return to Azura's shrine to finish the quest.
