Walkthrough[]

Upon entering the Root Sunder Ruins, you will encounter the apparition of a man named Sirdor. Sirdor will tell you that he is currently trapped in a room in the east of the ruins, and will ask you to help free him.

Head on to the central room, then head through the eastern hallway until you find yourself in a room with a glowing crystal on an island. Sirdor will guide you to the west of this room, through a door to the lower level. Proceed on until you find yourself in a room with what looks like a hut made of roots. You will find there that Sirdor is actually long dead, and that the apparition was in fact a creation of a being called Root Sunder. Read Sirdor's Journal and you will learn that this entity is in fact the spirit of the jungle itself. The Ayleids trapped it when creating their city, but it went mad and killed them. To free Root Sunder, you must use an attunement stone, as well as three support stones found throughout the ruins.

The attunement stone can be found here in the root hut, by Sirdor's body. Once you pick it up, Root Sunder will tell you that you are wasting your time, and will send the Guardian of Root Sunder to kill you. Slay the thing, then head back to the upper level. The attunement welkynd stones can be found in the room just outside the door to the lower level; use the supporting stones, then use your attunement stone on the central welkynd stone on the island. This will free Root Sunder; it will appear as a floating orb above the stone. Talk to it and it will thank you for freeing it and apologise for trying to kill you. This will finish the quest.
