For other uses, see Harpy.

Harpy is a creature in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. They can only be damaged with Dwarven weapons or better.

Description[]

"One of the great tragic stories told in northern Hammerfell is of the group of cruel and beautiful witches who were transformed (or transformed themselves, the legend is somewhat murky) into hideous, deranged half-breed Harpies. Whatever the truth is behind the legend, the Harpies are a true threat to life and commerce along the Iliac Bay. They nest in abandoned ruins, mating with and then destroying the unfortunate human males they capture. While their maniacal nature makes them somewhat less-than-brilliant tacticians, their sharp talons and frenzied behavior often force kingdoms to abandon lands to their use. Still, some say that the Harpies have some knowledge passed on to them from their human fore-mothers: knowledge they may give, but not freely."
―Harpies description[src]

Harpies are half-bird humanoids. The festival of Riglametha celebrates the supposed creation of the harpies. They have their own tongue, and have been known to communicate with mortals.[1]

Location[]

Harpies may spawn in dungeons, or as part of the quest "Wild Animal."
