The Throat of the World is an unmarked location that appears in The Elder Scrolls Online. It can be found in a brief form in the game, and is part of the quest, "Where the Frostheart Grows."
The entire mountain and High Hrothgar can be seen from a distance at Ivarstead and Falkreath. The long stairway granting access to the peak, however, was closed off due to an avalanche that blocked the way, hurting pilgrims in the process.[1]

A pilgrim is dying in Ivarstead. A healer named Mizrali thinks she can save him with a rare plant called Frostheart Blossom that grows along the steps to the Throat of the World. I should try to track one down.

Trivia[]
- The Frost Trolls appearing on the steps up the throat may be a reference to the Frost troll that appears in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
- Because of the avalanche, some fences can be located climbing up the steps, but can be avoided, though a tree and a huge amount of snow makes it impossible to continue the way.
- The Seven Thousand Steps are in a good state during the events of Online, a different picture seen 950 years later, during the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, where many of them were gone or deteriorated by time.
