"In death, we continue the work that escaped us in life. The relics must still be guarded, for some day they shall be needed once more."
―Sir Caius[src]

Sir Caius was a member of the old Knights of the Nine. He was killed by Sir Berich while trying to stop him from leaving to go fight in the War of the Red Diamond and take the Sword and Greaves of the Crusader.

Caius blames himself for Berich becoming what he turned into, saying that if he hadn't drawn his weapon and fought his friend none of it would have happened. Despite this, he had hoped to reconcile with his friend in the after life, something that has yet to happen as his spirit never arrived to guard the last relic.

Interactions[]

Sir Caius is first encountered by the Hero while they are searching the Priory of the Nine for the Cuirass of the Crusader. Sir Caius, as well the rest of the knights' spirits (excluding Berich) are in the under-croft guarding there only remaining relic they have. Sir Caius and the rest of the knights will each fight the Hero to see if they are worthy to take the Cuirass and be told where to find the rest of the relics.

Priory of the Nine[]

After hearing about the massacre at the Chapel of Dibella, in Anvil, the Hero has set forth to find the Relics of the Crusader and stop the attacks lead by Umaril the Unfeathered.

The Hero has discovered that the Knights of the Nine had a Priory in the West Weald and that one of the relics may still be there.

Umaril the Unfeathered[]

After receiving the Blessing of Talos and the promoting of Knights it is time to face Umaril the Unfeathered at Garlas Malatar. The Prophet has marked the keep where he is hiding.

Dialogue[]

Show: Priory of the Nine
Inside the Priory of the Nine:

"I am at your service, Commander."

Gauntlets of the Crusader "The Gauntlets were recovered by Sir Casimir. One of our few victories during our time. But then even our victories became our failure."
Knights of the Nine "In death, we continue the work that escaped us in life. The relics must still be guarded, for some day they shall be needed once more."
Mace of Zenithar "Sir Ralvas requested for the Mace after Sir Berich's betrayal. He believed that with the Mace, he would be able to bring the rest of us together. He stayed at the Chapel of Leyawiin for months, attempting the test over and over. He hardly ate. Hardly slept. In the end, he failed. He left the chapel broken and beaten. Sir Amiel found his body and laid him to rest here at the Priory."
Sir Berich "Alas that my old comrade is not among us here. We do not know why his spirit did not join us here to guard our last Relic. We were enstranged in life, but I had hoped that in death we could be reconciled. For my part, I now know that I am largely to blame for the ruin of the old Order. Sir Amiel takes too much upon himself. I will say no more."
Sir Berich (After obtaining all artifacts excluding the Sword) "Alas that the evil has begun on the day of my death should have struck so deep! When Sir Berich said he would take his Relics with him to war, and would not listen to Sir Amiel's pleas, I allowed my anger to get the best of me. Know that I was the one who drew weapon first against Sir Berich. He merely defended himself, and proved the better swordsman. And now, because of me... evil has claimed his very soul."
Sir Berich (After obtaining the Sword) "You put right the evil that I began through my own weakness. Sir Berich is once again part of our fellowship, and shall be forevermore."

"Go with Virtue."
