For other uses, see Wall of Fire.

Wall of Flames is an Expert level Destruction spell in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Wall of Flames can be considered an upgraded version of Flames - It deals comparative damage when cast directly on targets, but this causes the wall to appear at their feet and apply its "real" damage.

Effect[]

Wall of Flames deals 50 points of fire damage to any enemy who passes through it each second. It costs 80 magicka per second of casting (equivalent to one square of wall).

Each wall lasts for 30 seconds. There can be maximum 10 walls out at once - trying to spray more results in previous walls disappearing. However, curiously, this limit only applies to this spell itself. If used alongside Wall of Storms and Wall of Frost, it is possible to spray up to 30 active walls at once, or 10 of each.

Bugs[]

This section contains bugs related to Wall of Flames. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  • It is possible for the spell to not create the wall, and just creates a black patch on the ground like other Flame spells do (e.g. Fireball, Firebolt, Flames, etc.). The only fix known is to save your game, quit the game which makes you exit to the dashboard (Xbox Home, PS3 Dashboard or close the file), then load the save instead of pressing "Continue". It is not required, though it may reduce lag.
