Witches in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are female mages often found serving under Hagravens. Witches can be one of five races (Altmer, Breton, Dunmer, Imperial, Nord), depending on their Destruction magic specialization. Legend has it that witches who have earned the praise of Hagravens and have studied for many years will have the opportunity to become Hagravens themselves.[source?]
Witches are essentially female magic-users that worship a Daedric Prince with or without a coven.
Equipment and combat[]
Witches wear Black Mage Robes, and use spells such as Lightning Bolt, Ice Spike, and Steadfast Ward, depending on their Destruction magic specialization. They also carry a random leveled dagger which they will use if their magicka pool is depleted, forcing them to use melee.

Witches are commonly found in the company of Hagravens and/or Forsworn.
Trivia[]
Oddly enough, they will send hired thugs after the Dragonborn if they steal anything from them.
