Food is a recurring consumable item in The Elder Scrolls items that temporarily alter the player's stats. This could mean replenishing or increasing one's maximum Health, Stamina, or Magicka, or changing other aspects such as magic resistance, or bolstering attributes. Meat, bread, and sweetrolls are common food items.
Usefulness and aestheticEdit
Food isn't required for survival and exists primarily for aesthetics, however some raw ingredients can be cooked into useful items. Consuming raw food in Oblivion and Morrowind raises alchemy, as well as possibly unveiling hidden effects from that item.
