Alchemy description: Carrying capacity increases by <value> for <duration> seconds.

Enchanting description: Carrying capacity increased by <value> points.

Fortify Carry Weight increases the wearer's maximum carry weight, i.e. increases the amount of items that can be carried. It is similar to the Feather effect in previous Elder Scrolls games.

Potions (custom and built-in) provide a temporary increase, that only lasts for a specified duration, after which the user's carry weight is returned to normal. Enchantments last for as long as the item is equipped, but are generally smaller in magnitude than potions.

Alchemical Effects (Skyrim)Edit

The following alchemical ingredients have the Fortify Carry Weight effect, along with where on the effects list it appears for each.

Enchanting (Skyrim)Edit

The following items use this effect. You can learn how to enchant custom items with this effect if you find one of the following items and disenchant it.

Artifacts and unique items that can not be disenchanted include:

Perks (Skyrim)Edit

In order to increase your carry weight, you can spend your perk points towards perks that can increase your carry weight.

The Steed Stone (Skyrim) Edit

Another way to increase your carry weight is to use The Steed Stone . The Steed Stone increases your carryweight with 100 points. It doesn't cost you any perks or gold, which makes it an good investement for those who like to increase their carry weight easily.

NotesEdit

  • Even though quest items normally list a 'weight', they seldom actually add to your character's carried weight - they are effectively weightless for practical purposes.
