Hunting in Skyrim is a very simple but at the same time difficult task, normally done with a bow. It's a combination of sneaking and being smarter than your target. When you are hunting it's important to never take your bow off the prey, the second you don't have your bow on them is the moment when they go leaping. If you can successfully sneak upon your prey and shoot them there is a damage bonus that varies on perks you have in your sneak skill, normally causing instant death. If you miss you will most likely loose your prey, they don't stop running until they are out of your sight distance. Load your bow up again after you kill your prey. Then look around for another animal, if there are no more animals, loot the animal you had just killed. You can also use the spell [[Detect Life]] or the shout [[Aura Whisper]] to find animals hidden behind trees or rocks. Enjoy. Also, if you want to get archery up, go to Angi's camp, where she teaches you targeting and other skills along with one level in Archery for completing each challenge. Skyrim

A good way to make money is to hunt animals, such as deer, horker or bear. Harvest these animals for their material value, such as Bear Pelt/Bear Claws, Horker meat/Horker Tusk or Venison/Deer Hide/Deer Pelt/Large Antlers/Small Antlers. An alchemist can make good use of the animal based ingredients, (claws, antlers, etc.), those advanced in alchemy should consider hunting as a source of extra income, as animal based ingredients are not usually sold by Merchants (Skyrim). Collecting other ingredients found along the way will increase this.

Tactics

You can also use the spell Detect Life or the shout Aura Whisper to find animals hidden behind trees or rocks. Enjoy. Also, if you want to get archery up, go to Angi's camp, where she teaches you targeting and other skills along with one level in Archery for completing each challenge. It is on the path from Helgen to Falkreath where you will see a path with a stone marker. Follow it up, and you will find her camp. Look it up on YouTube for help.

Places to Hunt

Areas such as the Reach, and Whiterun are also very good areas to hunt. When in the Reach, watch out for the Forsworn and big game Sabre Cats. Whiteruns' environment is mainly open plains, which means you can scout ahead and find your prey easier. Best time to hunt is at day, as during the night the prey's, (and the player's), visibility is significantly decreased, although it does aid in the ability of the player to sneak. The Reach offers a more dense area, and highlands. Foxes can be found there, and wild goat. If you would like to hunt in the north, Hjaalmarch is your best bet. Steer clear of the Labyrinthian area and focus a bit more north of Dawnstar, or east of Morthal.
