Forums > Consensus track > CT:Creatures Soul Size Categories

This is a proposal to create categories that will organize creatures by their soul size. This has been discussed on the IRC and we should probably have a vote on it. So these categories would organize creatures according to their soul sizes.

For example Bear (Skyrim) would go into Skyrim: Creatures with Common Souls. Bear (Oblivion) would go into Oblivion: Creatures with Lesser Souls, and that would be done with all creatures. There would also be overarching categories e.g. Skyrim: Creatures by Soul Size. This would be very useful for people looking to fill a particular soul gem.

Voting-support Support – I also recommend creating a table on Soul Gem (Skyrim) that displays the same information. Adding a parameter to the table that is (or at least should be) present on Creatures (Skyrim) may also prove beneficial for some readers. Eventually, these changes will need to be implemented wiki-wide for all games in which soul trapping is a feature. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 00:13, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-support Support – We agree with Deyvid. Just because the same data are scattered across several pages doesn't make it undesirable to present them as a whole.DarthOrc (talk) 00:35, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Oppose[]

Voting-oppose Oppose – seems alittle pointless to me, it also seems like overcategorization. Cheatcodechamp (talk) 00:12, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-oppose Oppose – Soul sizes are already listed on the Soul Gem pages. Soul Gem (Oblivion) and Soul Gem (Skyrim). How hard is it to look at the page with all creatures listed there? —TombRaiser SPEAK! 00:19, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-oppose Oppose – What Tombs said. The table I made on Soul Gem (Skyrim) works fine. No need for this. --Jimeee (talk) 01:19, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-oppose Oppose – Really pointless. Kennyannydenny (A question is never stupid, only he who asks it) 22:07, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-oppose Oppose – We have enough categories as it is, there is no need to create more categories for this when soul sizes are already tabled on the Soul Gem articles. Dar'Rajhin (talk) 03:06, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Voting-comment Comment – - If we decided to categorize any type of soul size, I would recommend only doing Grand Souls. Those would be the only ones really beneficial, since most people don't wander around thinking, "Damn, I wish I had a petty soul right now." No. Everyone wants grans and blacks. Blacks are slightly more obvious than Grands, I think. Either way, I'll follow the consensus, even though I think this could be useful for some. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 04:15, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
