CT Archive/Policy to deal with low quality articles faster

Visit the new ForumsAs you probably know, the quality of this Wiki's articles is bad. Really bad. Trying to add info while rewriting and reformatting every article along the way is nearly impossible. Something needs to be done.
Basically this is calling for a policy that lets admins rewrite entire articles for the sake of quality. We have a lot of articles that are formatted wrong, they have incorrect info, redlinks, fanon, tons of grammar problems.. and it's impossible to add info from a game and try to fit it in with all this crap. Shitty articles sometimes have a lot of info that shouldn't be there or is wrong. Also, I know that certain individuals like to add fanon info to articles which makes this problem even worse. For instance, if I was trying to add info to the Mages Guild article from a book in the games, I would have to fit it in somewhere with all this crap that is written unprofessionally. The Yokuda article is another example of this, tons of impossible-to-verify information that I would have to sift through in order to add something legitimate. On a normal Wiki, you would post templates saying that the information may be fanon, or the article may not be accurate, but these tags would obviously have little effect here since the authors are long gone, and there's only a few users. So basically for the duration of the "emergency" (the wiki sucking) I think that admins should get emergency dictatorship powers and have the ability to delete lots of info and replace it with real info that we know is true, even when this means less info. When the Wiki doesn't suck anymore, we would add notification tags or post on the talk pages like a regular Wiki. This will allow faster results to this Wiki's quality problem, and pave the way for new, good content to be written. JonusAngelus 21:35, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

- Even though I am only a casual editor here, I do come here a lot for TES information (mainly Skyrim). I support this as I keep seeing tone violations in many bugs and notes sections in Skyrim articles. It seems obvious that some contribs don't read the editing guidelines before they edit. I am finding it difficult to re-word some of the offending sections to make them neutral.Ser Pouce-a-lot (talk) 03:09, February 12, 2012 (UTC)

I pretty much agree with you. If I try to add info from Arena for a character, I end up spending half an hour reformatting, rewording, and fixing the grammar of some awful article just so I can add a sentence with the info from Arena. It's so annoying, and there's a good chance that the previous info isn't even accurate. -- Xell Khaar 21:52, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I didn't notice this proposal was 2-1/2 years old until after I posted my comment for approval. Oops. Anyway it is an issue that does still need to be addressed. The neutrality issues noted in my comment REALLY need to be addressed ASAP.Ser Pouce-a-lot (talk) 03:39, February 12, 2012 (UTC)
