If I enchant a piece of armour with fortify one-handed, with a grand soul gem, it says it will increase my one handed damage by 40% (it specifies damage and not level). I have a dragonbone sword which does 90 damage without the armour. when I equip the armour it does 116, which is about 29%. It should be just under 126. this effect stacks fine, but each 40% increase is only actually 29%. Has anyone else found this? and is there anything i can do to fix it? cheers. p.s. when i have the armour equipped it shows up as a 40% increase in Active Effects, just not on the actual weapon, also this happens with any one handed weapon, not just the dragonbone sword.

As far as I'm aware, that's because that number isn't taking into account any other multipliers, such as level itself, perks, etc. I don't think it takes that into account, as IIRC, it is simply skill-based bonus.GroverA125 (talk) 18:08, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Ah thankyou. That makes sense. My weapons have been smithed to "Legendary", so yeah, if it doesn't take that improvement inot account then the increase would be about right. Cheers. I'd heard that some fortifications were bugged and you had to delete game data to fix it. This makes me feel/sound like an idiot, but im on 360, and I don't know what "delete game data" means. So I'm really glad it wasn't that.
