Gates of Fire is a quest available in The Elder Scrolls Online. The Vestige must defend Senalana from invading Imperial forces.

Background[]

I've come upon an active battlefield, as Colovian forces attempt to take an Ayleid ruin from Dominion soldiers.

Walkthrough[]

In the ruins of Senalana, you will meet a Khajiit named Centurion Burri. She will tell you that this place is under attack by Colovians. She sent three of her best scouts into the field to find out what the Colovians are doing here, but they have yet to report back. She will send you in to talk to these scouts and discover what is going on.

You will find Scout Panamar immediately to the north. Talk to him and he will tell you that the Colovians are after a relic that the Ayleids sealed away here. He does not know the nature of this relic, but Razum-dar, who is also present at this site, does. After you have spoken with him, head southeast to find Juluda-Daro. She will be standing over the dead bodies of some Colovians. She will tell you that Razum-dar went into the ruins with a group of soldiers, but that the Colovians sealed the entrance by stealing a pair of Welkynd Stones. Finally, head to the north side of the ruins to find the last scout, Annathiel. She has tracked the welkynd stones; they are being guarded by powerful mages.

Head into the tent camp Annathiel was watching and search the chest next to the second tent on the left; you will find one of the welkynd stones there. The second stone is further ahead, in the big tent. Take both of them to the ruins' entrance in the center of the area and place them on the sconces. This will allow you to enter the vault. Head in and start your search for Razum-dar. You will find a wounded Colovian soldier named Gratidia Arius who will tell you that Razum-dar has been cornered and will be killed soon, and that they are here for the Circlet of Elven Authority, which will give the wearer dominion over all elves.

The fire traps up ahead will periodically turn on and off. Make your way through carefully, then press the button on the other side. This will open the door ahead; proceed and you will find a bunch more traps. Time your traversal over the spike traps, so that the spikes are down when you cross, then head around the fire trap. More spike traps await; time your traversal well and press the button once you reach the other side. This will allow you access to the third hallway, which will feature no traps. On the far end, you will see Razum-dar behind a gate. Speak with him and he will tell you that the way back for him has collapsed; he cannot reach the Circlet right behind you. Thus, the task falls to you to solve the puzzle and claim the circlet. However, Raz will tell you that destroying the circlet will cause the defenses here to go haywire and kill him and his men, but he will still encourage you to do just that, as the circlet can only be destroyed here.

To claim the circlet, activate the buttons in the correct order: first the leftmost one, then the rightmost one, then the one left of the circlet, then the one right of the circlet. Once you have the circlet, it is time to decide whether to destroy it and sacrifice Raz's life, or to use it to depower the traps and allow Raz to escape. If you throw the circlet in the furnace, [?]. If you use it to depower the Tower rune on the wall, the ruins will start to collapse. Head outside and speak with Raz there; he will not be happy with you. He will take the circlet from you and start looking for a new hiding place. This will finish the quest.
