For this location in Online, see Gil-Var-Delle.

Gilverdale, also spelled Gil-Var-Delle and Gilderdale[1], was a town located in Valenwood. It was destroyed by the Daedric Prince Molag Bal.

History

In the year 1E 2920 the insane King of Senchal, Dro'Zel, summoned the Daedric Prince Molag Bal to destroy the town after being unsettled by the tale of a bard who was native to the town. Almalexia arrived at the town while traveling to the Isle of Artaeum. By the time she had arrived the town had been completely destroyed.[2]

Because of the events that transpired in Gilverdale, Sotha Sil traveled to Coldharbour to make a pact with the Daedric Princes to prevent large-scale destruction from ever happening again,[3] though the Daedra agreed to the pact it was eventually broken by Mehrunes Dagon after he sacked Mournhold.[4]

Flaccus Terentius disappeared at Gil-Var-Delle in 2E 573.[5] When Molag Bal began the Planemeld in 2E 582, he deployed a Dark Anchor at the site. Almalexia, sensing Bal's influence, sent High Ordinator Danys to end the problem. With the help of the Vestige, the Dark Anchor was destroyed and Gil-Var-Delle was freed.[6]
