Helm of Winterhold is a unique steel horned helmet and quest item found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It can be dated back to around 1E 369, when it was worn by Jarl Hanse of Winterhold.

The Jarl of Winterhold, Korir asks the Dragonborn to retrieve it for him to further secure his claim as Jarl.

• Hela's Folly
• Hob's Fall Cave

• Snow Veil Sanctum

• Yngol Barrow
• Yngvild
• Ysgramor's Tomb

SmithingEdit

It can be upgraded with a Steel Ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

BugsEdit

•  PC   360   PS3  If the Dragonborn retrieves the Helm for the Jarl and then completes the civil war storyline, the new Jarl will also ask the player to retrieve the Helm again, usually from a different location.
•  PC   360   PS3 If the Dragonborn retrieves the Helm for the Jarl and talks to the Jarl asking for work at some later point, the Jarl may ask for the Helm to be retrieved again.
•  360   If the Helm of Winterhold is in Yngol Barrow, instead of Yngol wearing his Unique Helmet, he will be wearing the Helm of Winterhold, making it impossible to retrieve Yngol's Helm.
