Kaal Kaaz was a longboat made in the massive shipyards of Jylkurfyk, Atmora. It was made for the Return of the Five Hundred Companions. Unfortunately, there are no records of whom was the captain of the boat and it's crew.

After crossing the Sea of Ghosts and reclaiming Saarthal, the Circle of Captains was assembled. It was decided that every captain and his crew should go their own path. The crew of the Kaal Kaaz joined shields with the crews of Sadon Reyth and Ylgermet to battle elves in the area later known as Eastmarch.

When the captain of Ylgermet, legendary Ysgramor himself, started building Windhelm, the crew of Kaal Kaaz split off, never to join shields again.
