King Hurlburt of House Branquette, was the twenty-first ruler of Shornhelm. He ruled from 2E 522 until his death in 2E 546, leading Shornhelm at the significant Battle of Granden Tor. Hurlburt joined the recently established Daggerfall Covenant after the Black Drake's Reachman invasion. At the time, the covenant was only a collection of High Rock's many kingdoms.[1]

Hurlburt would be succeeded by his legitimate son, fourteen-year-old Phylgeon Montclair. His eldest son, however, named Ranser Branquette, was supported by House Branquette and House Tamrith who believed him to be the rightful heir, though he had been born out of wedlock. Ranser would later become king.[1]
