The Konunleikar is an annual event, held in the city of Windhelm to commemorate the anniversary of the coronation of Jorunn the Skald-King of Skyrim.

During the Konunleikar, many citizens gather to participate in many festive activities, including feasting, drinking and watching the Footrace of the Nine Holds, where runners have to sprint across the entire wall of the city, passing through nine towers, one for every hold in Skyrim, and the first to come out of the ninth tower wins the race.

2E 582 marked the tenth anniversary of Jorunn's reign, and the Konunleikar was held amidst a growing rebel crisis throughout Eastmarch. The Vestige participated in the Footrace of the Nine Holds, along with 8 other racers. During the race, a runner called Hadring was seriously injured by an assassin who quickly and stealthily escaped the scene, and no one saw the incident because Hadring was attacked in a tower.

The Stormfist Brigade, the rebel organization that Hadring's attacker belonged to, was eventually defeated by the Vestige and Jorunn himself at the ancient dragon temple of Skuldafn.
