Main article: Dragon Shouts

Kyne's Peace is a dragon shout in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

EffectsEdit

This Shout will calm all wild animals, except frost trolls, within the range of approximately 100 paces.

It will also detect all animals within the range, much like the Aura Whisper shout or Detect Life spell, showing all animals in blue aura for the Shout's duration.

Using one Word of the Shout will cause all animals to stop attacking or fleeing until they are attacked. At two Words, the animals become less responsive to any attacks, taking another two or three hits before retaliating. At three Words, animals become almost completely unresponsive to attacks.

It is an extremely useful Shout that shouldn't be dismissed or overlooked. Without it, the Dragonborn is forced to kill any aggressive wild animals they happen to cross paths with in the wilderness unless they have the option of fleeing the scene. Even the first Word alone is often enough to stop most attacks, subsequently giving them time to get away from the animal or animals. However, using this Shout against, for example, wolves attacking the chickens, cows, or people living at any of the homesteads will only temporarily solve the problem. This is so because the wolves (and other carnivores, presumably) will stay in the same general area they were in when they were shouted at, and once the Shout wears off, they will resume their attacks on the homestead. This Shout is best used against aggressive animals found on the plains or forests to stop their aggression long enough for the Dragonborn to make an escape.

TriviaEdit

  • Works on hostile and friendly animals, such as horses.
  • Hawks drop out of the sky when hit with this shout.
  • Using it will knock bee hives out of trees and off the rafters in a homestead's greenhouse.HF
  • If used in a building with shelves that contain any items, they will get blasted off the shelves with considerable force, but it does not make neutral characters hostile.
