Lycanthropy
Talk25this wiki
Lycanthropy is a disease that causes the victim to transform into a were-creature, and is generally contracted by being bitten by one. All races can contract lycanthropy; however, Altmer, Argonians, Bosmer, and Redguards are resistant to it. Lycanthropy itself was created by Hircine, who now serves as the guardian of the people infected with lycanthropy. This disease gives the infected a bloodlust, meaning they must kill every time they transform. It is believed that a cure for this disease exists in the Glenpoint foothills of High Rock.

Types
The form someone takes upon contracting lycanthropy varies according to their species, as there are many different species of man, mer and beast throughout Tamriel, there are many according types of lycanthropes.[1]
Werewolves are the most common form among men and mer and can be found in all areas of Tamriel. While Werebears can be found in Skyrim and Wereboars are located in parts of High Rock. It is reported that Werevultures are rare in Valenwood.
The Betmer have their own forms that drive from where they originate. The Khajiit based lycantrope are called Werelions and that curse comes from the jungles of Elsweyr. While Argonians are not affected mostly, they are not resistant to the disease of the Werecrocodile, which lurk in isolated swamps of Black Marsh.
These certain types of Lycanthropy can be found mainly in their originating homelands, however partial amounts of the creatures can be seen in neighboring provinces.Weresharks are said to be in the seas, but little is know about that.
