Malacath's Quest is a quest undertaken by the Nerevarine in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Background
- "You have summoned me? Hmmph. You are all the same. But, perhaps you can be of use to me. I have in my possession the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw, the dark elven 'hero.' His deeds are numerous, but he was a false hero. All were performed by Kharag gro-Khar, his orcish friend. It is time this legend was put to rest. Find the last of his bloodline, kill him, and I will grant you the Helm. Look for the him in the city where the Man-God lives."

Walkthrough
The Nerevarine, when exploring the daedric shrine of Assurdirapal, may find a statue of Malacath in the shrine. Interacting with the statue will cause the Nerevarine to be contacted directly by the Prince of the Spurned and Ostracized about an ancient lie. According to Malacath, a "hero" by the name of Oreyn Bearclaw took the credit for the deeds done by his Orsimer friend Kharag gro-Khar. The Nerevarine is tasked with avenging gro-Khar (on behalf of Malacath) by killing Bearclaw's last living relative, Farvyn Oreyn.
Ending a legend
- "You have killed the false hero, and ensured there will be no more to follow. You have helped bring honor back to the Orcish people, and for that I am glad. Here, take the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw. Wear it proudly, and let it serve as a reminder of what really happened."

Farvyn Oreyn can be found in Gnaar Mok (this is found out after the Nerevarine has completed Malacath's suggestion of heading to Vivec City and asking around). Oreyn is guarded by two others and will openly admit that the "hero" that was Oreyn Bearclaw was false. However, if the Nerevarine tells him that they were sent by Malacath, Oreyn will attack (as will his guards). Once Oreyn is dead, the Nerevarine may return to Malacath to end the quest. Malacath will then reward the Nerevarine with the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw.

Trivia
- It is revealed in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, however, that Farvyn Oreyn is not the last of Oreyn Bearclaw's bloodline.
- The second-in-command of the Chorrol Fighters Guild, Modryn Oreyn, states that he had the helm returned to him by a stranger from Morrowind.
