Miscarcand is an Ayleid ruin in western Cyrodiil. Miscarcand is the only known ruin to still contain a Great Welkynd Stone after two thousand years, but it is guarded by the last King of Miscarcand (a lich).
It is recommended that the Hero leave at least the final zone alone until the relevant quest (see Trivia).

- Although it is possible to explore this entire ruin and pick up the Great Welkynd Stone before the relevant quest, it is strongly recommended that one do not do so. Retrieving the stone prematurely triggers a glitch, which while not game breaking, makes the Defense of Bruma quest extremely difficult. This is detailed further under the "Miscarcand" quest page.
