Mods: Mod
Talk1this wiki
A mod is the abbreviated name for "modification", and describes any alterations made to a game. Mods are typically created by fans of the series to either add or remove difficulty, to enhance graphics, and various other reasons. Mods are exclusive to PC users. Dismissing rumors of possible mods for console versions of Skyrim, Bethesda publicly stated that there were no plans to make mods for consoles.[1]

Mods effecting Creatures
Edit
Macho Dragons
Edit
All the dragons of Skyrim have been altered in appearance and sound to look that of the famous wrestler, "Macho Man" Randy Savage. The head changes to the face (With the sunglasses and facial hair) of Savage, and the legs to the clothes of Savage (The 'dragon' is shirtless). The neck looks a bit strange as it is a long neck to look on a human. Also included is Savage's purple hat. The dragon's wings have been removed into long, skinny arms, and the same with the legs. Any spikes and such on the dragon's back and head have been removed. Randy's mouth still opens and breathes Fire/Frost. While fighting the modded dragon, instead of roaring, it yells catch phrases of the wrestler, adding even more humor to the mod.
The tail, however is still shown, and looks exactly like a dragon's looks. This has not been fixed; but most players seem to ignore it anyway.
More Difficult Dragons
Edit
All the dragons of Skyrim have been made to be extremely hard to defeat, as they Shout much more often than in normal gameplay. Also, the dragons do not have weaknesses (ex: a Frost Dragon will not be more easily killed by a Fire spell, and vice versa)
This mod has been hidden in Skyrim Nexus. Instead, it can be use "Deadly Dragons".
Deadly Dragons
Edit
This mod rather likes More Difficult Dragons.
No Spiders - PIDERMAN DITION
Edit
Another re-texture, but instead, of Frostbite Spiders. The mod turns the Spiders into looking like popular fictional superhero, Spider-Man. It removes the three front legs off each side of the Spider (keeping the first fang-looking legs at the front of the Spider), squeezes their bodies down to skinny size, and takes off the fangs and eyes, being replaced with the red and blue costume of Spider-Man.
Swearing Mudcrabs
Edit
This mod effects the Mudcrabs of the game so, when they are physically harmed, they yell out in vein in a male human's tone of voice. There is no other use to this mod besides the sound Mudcrabs make when hit.
Posh Mudcrabs
Edit
All mudcrabs now wear top-hats and monacles.
No Spiders
Edit
All Frostbite Spiders apparently have been changed into frozen, standing Cave Bears, Goats or Mudcrabs. These bears stand on their hind legs as if attacking the Dragonborn, but are frozen and have no animation. The hitboxes of the Spiders are the same, so it would not be a wise idea to try and shoot the head of the illusional bear, as one would miss. The Spiders still attack, but only as humorous frozen bears.
Skyrim Monster Mod
Edit
This adds more creatures to skyrim with different skins. This mod also levels the creatures.
Weapon/armor Mods
Edit
Real 1st Person View -WIP-
Edit
This mod enables the player to, when they look down, see their model's chest, legs, feet and arms. This mod sometimes does not work, as often, the player sees through their own model and onto whatever the player is standing on.
Magicka Sabers
Edit
A new weapon has been created, the lightsaber from popular game, movie and book series Star Wars. The player can dual wield these sabers and they can be created at a Blacksmith Forge anywhere in Skyrim. They can come in most any colors, including red, pink, orange, purple, green, blue and more. When sheathing/unsheathing these weapons, they make the infamous lightsaber sound from the movies. It seems to be a stick of light, and the handle being just a candlestick. The weapons act as normal swords when fighting enemies.
The sabers looked a bit odd when sheathed, as the stick of light still stuck out even when on the player's left hip or back. But, this problem has been fixed in this mod version 0.3, as the original series, the stick of light disintegrated into the handle when sheathed.
The weapons can either be One-Handed or Two-Handed, they cost 2500 gold for Two-Handed and 2000 gold for One-Handed, weigh 23 pounds (for some reason; Star Wars lightsabers looked to not weigh as much as 10 pounds), and have a damage of 27. The description of each saber is simply "Magicka Saber Enchantment", and to smith them, one would need one Ingot (Ebony), a pair of leather strips, firewood, and a Greater Soul Gem.
JoO Jedi Robes
Edit
Usually used alongside the Magicka Saber mod, the Jedi Robes are a type of clothing made to look like a Jedi's Robes from the popular series Star Wars. The robes are basically retextures of the Hooded Monk Robes from the game, but with a darker brown color for the outer robe, and a light, tan color for the inner. There is no other use to this mod beside appearance.

Lord of the Rings
Edit
LOTR - Glamdring Blue Retexture
Edit
The weapon 'Glamdring' from this popular movie The Lord of the Rings series has been added to the game, and it is simply a Two-Handed sword (Could possibly be One-Handed also) that is black in color and resembles the Glamdring from the Lord of the Rings. It is a retexture of the Silver Sword.
This original mod has been hidden in Skyrim Nexus. Instead, it can be use "Isilmeriel LOTR Weapons Collection".
- Glamdring Blue Retexture's download link in Skyrim Nexus - this mod is depends on "Isilmeriel LOTR Weapons Collection".
Isilmeriel LOTR Weapons Collection
Edit
This mod is the weapons collection of "Lord of the Rings".
Assassin's Creed
Edit
There are variations of this mod, which are the robes of Assassin Ezio Auditore from game series Assassin's Creed. This first variation is a retexture, it seems, of the Hooded Thalmor Robes, Boots, and Gloves. This modded armor is from the game Assassin's Creed: Revelations in which Ezio's robes are a greyish color and he attains a beard. This appearance looks somewhat similar to a Greybeard's attire, but not by much.
While the second variation is not an exact replica of Ezio's armor from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhoood (As it is a retexture of Nightingale Armor), it looks very similar. The armor has been colored white as a base, and red in small portions.
Another variation of this mod is from both Brotherhood and Revelations and it is Ezio's Armor of Brutus. This armor seems to be created all on its own, as there is no original armor from the game that fits this one. These mods are only appearance mods, and cannot be used any other way.
Soul Calibur Weapon Set
Edit
This mod adds the swords Soul Calibur and Soul Edge from the Soul series games. They are Two Handed weapons.
The Legend of Zelda - A Skyrim Modification
Edit
Finally, Link from popular game series Legend of Zelda has been introduced into the world of Skyrim, as this mod starts out as a pre-made save file. Once loading that save, the player ends up with only underwear on, has long, blond hair, and Elf ears such as Link. The player also starts out in a never-before-seen area, a small pond with a ledge and stones around it in a forest. Under the pond lies a chest that can be opened to reveal all of Link's equipment from his game, also including a carrot, five potions of minor Healing, and two other potions, one of minor Stamina and one of minor Magicka. Also starting out, floating above the player is a Magelight, supposing to be Na'vi from the Zelda game series.
Dragon Bone Weapons
Edit

Added by Wolfbeast150This Mod adds a set of Dragon bone Weapons to craft at Blacksmiths. It adds one of every type of weapon in Dragon Bone style.
But in DLC The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard, Dragonbone Weapons can be crafted from Dragon Bone without this mod.
Dwemer Autoblade
Edit
This mod adds the dwemer autoblade to the game. It can be found in the Dwemer Museum,The Blackreach War Quarters and random Dwemer Towers in the Reach. The weapon have chainsaw sounds and is upgradable and craftable.
User Interface Mod
Edit
SkyUI
Edit
SkyUI is mod that aims to improve Skyrim's User Interface by making it easier to use with mouse and keyboard, less wasteful of available screen space and nicer to look at. The function also text-searching items in Inventory, Spells and "Favorites" available. All spells are able to categorized by Magic School The source code of this mod is published as an open-sourced software in GitHub[2].
This mod requires SKSE.
Mods Affecting NPCs
Edit
Nude Females
Edit
Many mod creators have recreated this mod over and over again, and the one and only thing this mod does is removes all clothes (including underwear, which cannot be removed without modding) from all females of the game, usually for pornographic or humorous wants. There have been many different types of this mod, from one having no woman's nipples on the breasts to one with bigger breasts and bottoms than normal. There are also mods that make men naked too.
Along with this, there are also many mods whereas the females have attractive, revealing clothes on rather than being fully nude (ex: a retexture of Forsworn Armor, with most of the fur being removed, showing skin).
Enhanced Blood Textures
Edit
The blood spewed from enemies has been enhanced as, instead of being pixelated dots, the blood now looks as if it were truly splattered onto the ground from foes.
Chainmail Armor
Edit
All underwear (not technically armor) of the citizens of Skyrim are changed to what looks like a chainmail texture. The player/NPC has the same attributes they would have without armor, so this mod really does not change much.
Skyrim Dancers
Edit
This idle mod allows all NPCs (and the player) to start dancing when standing. These dances include three animations (ex: the shuffle) and any human can use them. This is an idle mod, so, whenever the player stops moving, his/her model will start dancing any of the three dance animations (chosen randomly). Often, players use LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem", as it primarily goes with the shuffle. This mod is used mostly for humorous purposes. {C}The three animations are
- LMFAO Shuffling
- Michael Jackson's "Thriller"
- Regular Dancing
Mortal Children
Edit
This mod allows all children of Skyrim to be able to be harmed and killed, as opposed to the regular game where they are invincible. This is a humorous mod, but the player will still receive a bounty if a child is hit; 40 gold if harmed and the usual 1000 gold if murdered.
Ultimate Follower Overhaul
Edit
This mod allows the Dragonborn to have 15 followers following them. This mod also gives the followers the ability to ride horses, show their level and dual wield weapons.
Mikes mistical mounts.
Edit
This mod adds more mounts for the Dragonborn to ride which include a Wolf, Flaming familiar, Frostbite Spider, Bear, Sabre Cat, Elk, Mammoths and Two dragons.
Mods effecting the in game and out of game Menus
Edit
Organized Inventory
Edit
The player's inventory is now organized, better than the original game's (ex: an Ancient Nord Arrow would be at the top of the player's Weapon list, whereas a Steel Arrow would be near the bottom. With this mod, a list is created, all starting with Arrow (Comma), and then the name of that arrow.
Map/decorative mods
Edit
Landscape Retextures
Edit
All the land in Skyrim has been made to look more realistic, and there is no other use to this mod besides appearance. There have been many mods created like these, whether it is all of Skyrim to have better graphics, or just a city (ex: Markarth).
Also, many mods include more realistic effects in the game, such as the mod in which the sun glares at the player's screen more when they stare at it, and is not just a yellow circle in the sky.
Spell Effect Retexture
Edit
When the player shoots a basic spell, like Sparks, the effect on the area hit looks more realistic than the usual 'Vanilla' graphics created by Bethesda. Like the mod above, this one is only for appearance.
New Map
Edit
Instead of the original 3D map for The Elder Scrolls V, a new map has been installed that is similar to the old one. With this one, the player can actually 'move' down and see all throughout Skyrim, as if flying. The compass and locations are still shown. This mod is useful for players wanting to take a shortcut somewhere, as they would be able to see which path to take. However, this mod has defects. When in a city, the new map does not work, as, while still showing location and compass markers, the overall base of the map is a solid color, leaving the player unable to actually see the land of Skyrim. The second one is not the biggest problem, but still may be annoying to some. While landscaping, the movement of the camera is extremely slow.
Enhanced Lockpicking
Edit
While picking locks, there is a small bar in the upper area of the screen of the game showing levels of red, yellow, green and blue. Turning the lock will trigger the marker in the bar to move left or right throughout the colors. When the marker touches blue, that is when the player can successfully pick the lock.
The blue area is very big compared to Master locks, as those are harder to pick.
Player Abodes
Edit
Dozens of new player homes become available across Skyrim. There are also mods designed to re-texture and touch up the interiors of existing houses. At least one mod exists that allows the player to construct their own house.
Strategical Mod
Edit
Tundra Defense
Edit
Tundra Defense is a strategical mod, as players are able to make there outpost and the map marks the player's outpost, the name is; My Outpost. Tundra Defense is able to make houses, barracks, and stationeries, furniture. Could be a deadly city or a peaceful city, the player is even able to train guards, train dragons, train mages, train medics. The player is even able to take taxes, by making civilians. This mod even became the Top File of September 2012.
