Main article: Armor (Dragonborn)

Nordic Carved Armor is a set of heavy armor in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn with a base armor rating slightly less than that of Orcish armor, however it is lighter. Without the shield it also has an armor rating slightly lower than Falmer heavy armor. However, if a shield is used, the armor rating is slightly higher.

Unenchanted pieces of armor will begin to appear at level 25 and enchanted variants can be found at level 26. These locations include:

Nordic Carved Armor requires a Smithing level of 50 and the Advanced Armors perk to create. Pieces can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:

Pieces can be upgraded with a quicksilver ingot at a workbench and also benefit from the Advanced Armors perk, which doubles the improvement.

  • This armor set bears slight resemblance in design styles and overall lines to that of the armor style depicted on statues of the legendary Ysgramor (sans the helmet and cape).
  • It is the second strongest of the new heavy armor sets of The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn, though not as strong as the Orcish, Ebony, Daedric or Dragonbone heavy armors.
  • Unlike other armor styles introduced in Dragonborn, Nordic Carved Armor is widespread all over Skyrim, being found on Chief Bandits and other high-ranking outlaws at any bandit hideout. Conversely, the Chitin Armor, Bonemold Armor and Stalhrim Armor are only found in Solstheim.
