Not to be confused with The Oldest Orc.

The Old Orc is an Orsimer who appears as a random encounter in Skyrim.

While traveling in the wilds, the Dragonborn may come across an Orc who stands near the corpses of two sabre cats. When spoken to, he says he is waiting for a "good death."

All attempts to talk him out of it fail, and will be met with him saying that he has become too old to be a chief, too old to marry, and wants to die while he can still call himself a proper man, and that he wants to die in battle to please his god, the Daedric Prince Malacath.

He can be "helped" or left alone. Agreeing to help will cause him to become hostile.

  • The Old orc is similar to Agronak gro-Malog, an Orc in Cyrodiil's arena who was seeking death, feeling that he was a abomination and wanted a good death.
  • Unlike most random encounters, the Old Orc does not "reset" and remains at the place where he first spawned for the rest of the game. Also, his corpse does not disappear over time.
  • It is possible to encounter this character on more than one occasion.
  • The armor he wears is radiant and varies between leather armor, fur armor and hide armor.
