Personality is an attribute that affects one's ability to perform a variety of tasks, primarily those involving relations and interactions with the citizens of Morrowind. It is a factor in the manipulation of others via admiration, intimidation, or taunting. It contributes to disposition, which influences how much one is liked by others, affecting their willingness to share information or offer services. Personality is also a factor in successfully negotiating prices with merchants.


The following skills are governed by Personality. Their use contributes to the attribute multiplier at level-up:


Personality affects the ability to successfully taunt people, which is particularly useful to manipulate them into attacking the Nerevarine and allowing them to land the first blow, hence avoiding legal repercussions for killing in public areas. It can also prove useful during combat, being a factor in casting some spells including those which Calm, Blind, Paralyze, or Silence opponents.



The Lady grants a +25 bonus to Personality.

Spells and effectsEdit

  • Demoralize Humanoid is set as a Mysticism spell effect rather than being part of the Illusion school of magic. This is not the case for related effects such as Demoralize Creature, Calm Humanoid, etc., which are Illusion effects and influenced by Personality. This is generally regarded as an oversight on the part of the developers.
