Poison (Skyrim)
Talk6this wiki
Poison is a type of potion that can be created by the player by using the correct combination of ingredients at an Alchemy Lab. They can also be acquired through merchants or by looting corpses and containers. Some poisons such as Frostbite Venom cannot be created through alchemy, and can only be obtained from certain enemies and quests.
Poisons have a wide range of effects. These can range from crippling stamina or magicka regen, dealing direct damage to health, magicka or stamina, or even slowing the target down. There is even a poison of weakness to poison. Some poisons also have effects identical to some Illusion spells such as Fear and Fury/Frenzy.
Poisons can be applied to all weapons except your fists and staffs of any kind. While always effective on any enemy that isn't immune to poison, poisons are particularly useful when applied to a bow, allowing you to eliminate a powerful target more quickly and reduce the damage you will take when they get to you (assuming they are not using magic or a bow) or negate it completely by killing them before they reach you. Poison applied to a weapon will only work once unless using the Concentrated Poison perk, in which case the effect will be applied twice. This is particularly useful when using poisons that deal a set amount of damage instantly, or when dealing with multiple enemies.

Edit
- If any two ingredients with the "Damage Health" effect are mixed with Jarrin Root, the poison can deal more than 5000 damage. Sadly, you can only acquire one Jarrin Root in the entire game unless you spawn more using Console Commands.
